“Art is long, and time is short”

About NAZANIN
Painting, in a way, takes me out of time…

A Little Intro
I started painting at the age of 9 and learned from various art teachers with different styles. I began with pencil, then moved on to watercolor, and eventually transitioned to oil and acrylic painting, starting with a realistic style. I also work with resin and greatly enjoy incorporating Iranian motifs and symbols into my paintings. I tend to use bright colors in my artwork.
When I was in Iran, I participated in my first group exhibition at Farhang Saraye Ebne Sina alongside several other painters. In 2005, when I moved to the USA, I took part in several exhibitions, showcasing my work in a gallery in Miami. Since 2021, I have been collaborating with Pars Place, a cultural organization that organizes seasonal art exhibitions based on specific themes in Virginia. Artists can submit their work, and a selection is made from among them.
In 2024, I participated in Artomatic2024 in Washington, DC, which was a very valuable experience.
I have also organized art clinics for children aged 5 to 7, which has been a very rewarding experience.
I earned my master’s degree in French literature from the University of Maryland in 2009, and I currently teach French at George Washington University and Trinity University. I have always continued painting alongside my teaching career.
